New Honda CR-V Debuts at the 2011 LA Auto Show

Honda has officially pulled the covers off the new 2012 Honda CR-V at the on-going LA Auto Show. At first glance the new CR-V looks very much like the previous versions with very little changes but on getting a closer look one will realize some work has definitely been done, with a better looking interior reconfigured with the latest technology.
With the new Honda CR-V been the fourth - generation CR-V it is expected to stand out. It has been built with a 185-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission. It is said to offer a fuel economy of 23 miles per gallon in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, this is an increase of 5 percent and 11 percent respectively, definitely better than its predecessors.
The interior looks like that of a minivan with better looking leather and has been amped up with a few new tech features such as Bluetooth connectivity and streaming, a new i-MID display plus Pandora streaming audio through a smart phone app and SMS text-messaging. A backup camera and hands-free phone capability have also been included in the interior. Other features include the Eco Assist where you push a button and the cars switches to a fuel saving mode that does not affect the acceleration and an improved all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled system that has be configured to respond instantly to the slightest wheel slip.
With the new Honda Civic which went on sale earlier this year receiving lukewarm reviews, Honda held back a bit with the changes made to the CR-V. It will definitely receive rave review from Honda loyalists. The new 2012 Honda CR- V is expected to arrive at dealerships by mid-December.
