New Porsche 911 Cabriolet - Price and Availability

We have hardly taken a breather from or even driven the Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S Coupe and already pictures of a cabriolet have just been revealed, well that’s the auto industry for you. The new Porsche 911 cabriolet will be officially revealed at the 2012 Detroit motor taking place in January.
It has been built with fabric roof which is very light in weight instead of the complex folding hard metal tops; Porsche went for the fabric roof this time around to reduce the overall weight of the car making it less than the 1,5000kg of the previous model. The new cabriolet will be built with either a 345bhp 3.4-litre engine or a 393bhp 3.8 litre engine; Porsche 911 aficionados will have two engine options.
It has the same aluminium steel body as the Porsche 911 Coupe with a longer wheelbase and wider front track .A rear-wheel drive version will be available on its launch but our guess is that a four-wheel drive version will be made available later. There is no information out about its performance yet , but both models that is the Carrera and Carrera S are said to have an mpg of 28.
The new Porsche 911 Cabriolet will be available for purchase in the UK by March 2012 at £79,947 for the Carrera cabriolet and £89,740 for the Carrera S cabriolet. Porsche will be giving British consumers a chance to be a part of the complimentary driving course at Porsche’s ‘Experience Centre’ in Silverstone.
