All New 2013 Porsche Boxster

Porsche has released a new generation of their entry level Boxster Convertible. The new generation will have models that are more powerful, lighter and fuel efficient than the models they will be replacing.
Never before in the history of the Porsche Boxster was a change of generation so comprehensive; the open-top two-seater car has a completely new lightweight body and an all-new chassis. Considerably lower weight, longer wheelbase, a wider track and larger 20-inch wheels and a new electromechanical power steering system which is expected to significantly improve the mid-engine sports car's handling and dynamics, already far and away the best in its class. The new Porsche Boxsters boast superior performance and are also up to 15 per cent more fuel-efficient
The new generation will be debuted as Boxster and Boxster S, the classic Porsche pairing. Both models will be built with flat-six engines with direct fuel injection enhanced with electrical system recuperation, thermal management and the start/stop function. The power unit will deliver 265 hp from a 2.7 liter displacement; ten hp more than its larger displacement forerunner. Both the new Boxster and Boxster S will have a manual six-speed gearbox as standard with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option. With the PDK both models can pull off their best fuel consumption and acceleration performance. The fully electric top has been completely redesigned, now dispensing with a convertible top compartment lid, also interior is said to be a lot more spacious offering the driver and passengers more comfortable experience.
Both the 2013 Porsche Boxster and Porsche Boxster S are expected in the US showrooms just in time for summer. The prices will start from 49,500 for the Boxster and $60,900 for the Boxster S.
