The Alto is competitively priced and running costs shouldn't break the bank. It returns a whopping average of more than 64mpg and low emissions mean it’ll cost a pittance in tax; insurance premiums are among the lowest around, too. The cabin feels reasonably solid. However, it's not very appealing, because there are exposed screw heads and lots of hard, shiny plastics. The rear windows pop out instead of winding down - which I don’t like – and the Alto's dashboard won't win any prizes for style, but it's pretty user-friendly nonetheless.

All in all though, it's a good vehicle if you want to use as a run around.
